Lien Truong works primarily in the medium of painting. Conceptually inspired, she examines social and cultural identity, exploring the influences that bind ideas of family, gender, race and religion. Her work appropriates figuration, western and eastern landscape models, textile designs and various symbolic animal forms to reference the formation of contemporary identity and belief systems in a transcultural context.
